Hi there,
To have a multi-core machine render a single task using all it’s CPUs,
try launching Maya on the machines that the problem is occurring on, and
set the number of threads under the batch render options. This has been
known to fix the issue.
To render more than one task at a time on a multi-core machine,
right-click on the job in the Monitor, select Modify Properties, and
increment the Concurrent Task number under the Advanced tab.
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Well, I tried this and it did not work. I am using Maya 2008. I like the program in its other features, but I need it to distribute a rendering of one frame over my network of computers. Is this possible with Deadline?
Thanks
Hi Mike,
Deadline supports Tile rendering for Maya, which is essentially the
distribution of different regions of an image to different machine.
Depending on the format, Deadline should be able to re-assemble the
image after all the tiles are complete. When you submit the job from
Maya, you should see the Tile Rendering options at the bottom of the
submission dialog. Just enable it and specify the number of tiles in the
X and Y directions.
I couldn’t tell from content of your post if you’ve tried this or not.
If you have and you are having problems, please provide details or any
error messages that you can.
Thanks!
Sorry for posting to an old thread but I just wanted to verify that this is still a good solution for this problem?
Yup, this is still the known solution to this problem.
Cheers,
