I’m having an issue where multiple slave instances are on one machine. So when I remotely start a slave it launches two instances. In deadline 5 I could delete one of those instances but I can’t figure out how to delete the second one in Deadline 6.
Hello Jay,
You can actually delete any extra slave instances by going into the slave panel in the monitor, and right click the slave while in Super User Mode, then choose delete slave. Not sure why 2 are being made though. Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Hello,
So it looks like the command you would actually want is in the remote control menu and then the remove slave instance option. Hope that helps.
Cheers,
That works but the if I go to that machine it still shows two slave instances. And if I remotely launch the slave it will launch both.
We’re going to have to investigate this one. Not sure if the Launcher is smart enough to close both or not.
We’ll get it tested and see what we find.
I should also mention that the manual way to do this is to delete the Slave info files from the render node.
On Windows, they’re under “C:\ProgramData\Thinkbox\Deadline6\slaves”. Note that the ProgramData is hidden by default. If you close the Slaves, then delete everything in that folder, it should just start up the one I believe.
Ahh, excellent I’ll give that one a try.
