Any plans for supporting other compression algorithms in the prt format?
I’m looking into bzip2 for multithreaded compression.
bzip.org
Barring that, I’m suggesting some sort of “keyframing” concept, as in video compression. It could just be multiple prt’s in a single binary. Or maybe a better way to create partitions from a single save to disk operation. The idea is you could read the particles at the end of a large file without a lengthy decode operation, or you could stop making large prt files by making lots of partitions.
Is this rambling clear enough?
Thanks,
Ben.
