I can see that the launcher is running but there is no icon to access it. How do I fix this?
Hello Brad,
I am suspecting this is the same issue as another customer had, though they were on CentOS, but I believe the issue is on Linux in general. There is a bug in the QT code that was discovered back in ate march, however this bug is something that we likely won’t be able to fix until Deadline 8 due to the fact we won’t likely be updating that part of deadline until the next major version. As we previously investigate this, I don’t know of any work around for this. Can you advise what aspects of the launcher you use so we can maybe suggest alternative options?
Update: I am told be one coworker that they think that the launcher just doesn’t show up on ubuntu, but I will need to verify this.
I want to have two slave instances running and I know that you can start a new slave instance from launcher.
Hello Brad,
You should be able to start a new slave instance from the Monitor’s slave panel. If you right click a slave, then remote control, then slave commands, and there should be an option for start new slave instance. Unfortunately due to technical limitations on Ubuntu, we currently have no other option, but hopefully in the future we will find a way.
