No output file with AE jobs

Hi all,

I’m getting a problem when rendering After Effects files; the jobs queue fine and deadline appears to chew through them ok, but when it’s finished and marked the job as complete, there’s no file output.

If I use the Explore Output option it takes me to the correct directory but the file isn’t there, and if I use the right click->Default Viewer option, it tells me the file doesn’t exist.

Any idea what might be happening?

Hi Jon,



Can you post the task log for a frame that failed to render? Just

right-click on the task in the monitor, and select Task Reports -> View

Log Report. Just copy and paste a log from the lower window into your

next post. Perhaps it might contain some info that might explain why the

output wasn’t saved.

Apologies Ryan,

It might be user error on my part! I’m rendering to a quicktime file; just checked the log and saw this which might have something to do with it :wink:



0: STDOUT: PROGRESS: Total Time Elapsed:

0: STDOUT: After Effects warning: QuickTime functions will be disabled because a compatible version of QuickTime could not be found.



I assumed the machines already had QT installed but it would appear not. I’ve chucked it onto a few to see how they get on anyway, I’ll let you know how it goes.
