"Not enough server storage"

I seem to be getting this error whenever I try to render something through deadline. “Salve - Exception: Failed to update slaveinfo: Not Enough server storage is available to process this command.” I tried looking up this error on the web and it seems to occur from IRPStackSize. What is odd, is I alter this value, reboot the deadline sever machine and all nodes can connect to the server… but once I submit something through deadline the slaves get this error.

Has anyone else encountered this before? The server machine is a Win7 box while the slaves are XP… not sure if this would have something to do with it.

Thanks again

Joel

Hi Joel,

How many machines do you have connecting to the repository? The reason I ask is that non-server Windows operating systems have a remote connection limitation of 10. See the system requirements for the repository for more information:
software.primefocusworld.com/sof … Repository

Note that this 10 machine limit would include slaves and workstations. Also, it’s not uncommon for a machine to “hold” onto a file it’s no longer using, thus bumping up the usage count higher that it actually is.

Hey Ryan, we only have a totaly of 8 machines on the network so I thought I was safe with the limit of 10 that Windows uses. Also, I only have a total of 4 machines trying to connect to the repository…

Hi Joel,

Yeah, but like I mentioned before, these machines can “hold” onto files, thus maintaining extra connections. The best way to avoid any problems is to use a windows server OS, or *nix based OS, to install the repository. Unfortunately, we don’t have any control over how windows limits these connections.

That being said, it could be possible that this error isn’t related to the remote connection limit. That was just my first assumption when you mentioned the repository was on a Windows 7 machine. The other possibility could be a permission issue, but since you said everything connects fine at first, this wouldn’t appear to be the case.

Yeah the more I think about it the more I’mleaning towards it not being a true windows server (OS based.) I am going to try and run out and pick up a small server today and see if that helps any.

Thanks again!
