Pending remote commands / multi-commands

Hey guys,

Deadline still got one tiny but sometimes annoying issue I’d love to have a workaround or fix for. I talk about remote commands that are sent through the Monitor (e.g. cmd start /C “”). Why does the Monitor need a response from the slaves that a command was successful or not? Often I want to launch two .exe’s but as long as the first software is still running DL won’t get an exit code and therefore the second .exe isn’t started at all (previous command is still pending). I don’t want to write a batch file everytime I need to send multiple commands to the farm. Is there a way to avoid this? Or a feature I don’t see again ? You might want to implement a feature that when you delete pending commands from the list, the next commands are transmitted.

Best regards,
Dziga

Hey Dziga,

In the upcoming Deadline 5.1 update, there will be an option to not wait for the remote command to finish. Hopefully that will work for you for now.
