Planning with Linux Slaves

Hi there,

we are running a Farm with 5 Slaves and 1 Server. Important for us is the ability to render Cinema 4d and Maya.

Now we want to buy additional Slaves to get our work done.

I am a bit confused how Cinema and Maya will run under Linux. Deadline will work that’s not the reason - but how do i install the needed files for linux from cinema and maya?

Can someone help me?

I was not aware there is a cinema4d for linux…? Don´t think there is. License server has to be windows too…

This page gives a general overview of setting things up to render with Deadline:

So you’ll need to install C4D and Maya on your render nodes by doing typically installations for those applications. Also make sure you have the licensing set up for them as well.

I read that there is a C4D version for Linux, but that you have to talk to Maxon to get it. If you don’t have the Linux version of C4D though, you won’t be able to render with it on your Linux farm.
