hi!
i just setup all my machines with xsi 6.02
since it fixes a bug i’ve been struggeling with.
now i want to configure the xsi renderexecutalble path in superuser mode,
but the textfield doesn’t save my new entry,
therefore the clients won’t render, because
they don’t know the path to the 6.02 xsibatch.exe…
i cannot go back to 6.01.
will i have to edit some settings-file manually?
will i have to do this for each of my 16 machines, or will the entry through the monitor/superusermode do that for all machines?
sorry for these maybe dumb questions…
thanks in advance
chris
Hi Chris,
You should be able to set the path for the XSI 6 render executable in
the XSI plugin configuration. While in super user mode, select Tools ->
Configure Plugins, then select XSI from the list on the left. If you use
the “…” browse button to select the path, you will be asked if you
want to append the selected path to the list or to clear the previous
paths. Select No to clear the previous paths. Then click OK.
Now go back to the same plugin configuration to see if the value was
saved. If not, check that your machine has read/write permissions for
the file //your/repository/plugins/XSI/XSI.dlinit. If you do, you can
try setting the path manually in this file. Just set the
“RenderExecutable6=” key to the path to your XSI 6.02 xsibatch.bat file.
After saving the file, check the plugin configuration again from the
Monitor to ensure the path was set correctly.
Note that this is the only place where this setting needs to be saved,
so in either case, you won’t have to make the change on all 16 of your
machines.
Let us know if you have any luck!
Cheers,
- Ryan
