Hi,
Just been looking at some live jobs in Deadline and noticed I have 4 jobs all at different priority’s using no pools or groups with 3 or 4 slaves on each job. They keep rendering the same job and not move to the highest priority task.
The jobs are all 3ds max 2008, submitted from the same user and machine, and the priority was set at the time of submission. I have not seen this happen with after effects jobs.
Any tips to fix this, or is it resolved in Deadline 5.0? Is it rude to ask when its released?!
Thanks,
Mark
Hey Mark,
The way that priority works isn’t dependent on which software you’re rendering with, and since you’ve confirmed your AE jobs don’t have any problems with priority, there must be something else that is causing the behavior you’re seeing with your 3dsmax jobs.
Here are a few things to check:
- Do these jobs have a machine limit?
- Do these jobs have a whitelist/blacklist defined?
- Do these jobs use any limit groups?
- Do these jobs have any bad slaves? You can view the bad slave list for a job by right-clicking on it and selecting View Bad Slaves.
All of these can affect the scheduling order of a job.
Cheers,
Perfect! They had all been black listed as they errored so much!!
Many thanks Ryan
