i tried the first tutorial and i just play with settings and modifiers… so in the step with the curve i add a relax modifier after the push… with value of 100 iterations… and also pushed the curve to 2.8 and then the result was a little bit strange… when i pull the value of the curve to 2.7 was ok… i dont really if it is a bug, just reported…
This is not a Genome bug.
Relax supports vertex selection, but Max rarely provides a vertex soft-selection above 1.0.
In your case, the vertex selection flows up the stack and multiplies the effect of Relax. When you go above around 2.8, it simply gets too much and Relax explodes.
You have two options - either put a MeshSelect modifier between Push and Relax to completely reset and prevent the soft selection from going up, or add another Genome and do Ctrl+O for Output (set to Selection), SHIFT+S for Selection Input, and [F] [C] for Function > Clamp to clamp the selection between 0.0 and 1.0. Then the Relax will be smooth…
