Ah, the always helpful “Error: Oops! An error occurred.” error, which is QT’s way of basically saying it crashed and doesn’t know why.

The first thing to try is to render to another movie format. If Motion JPEG A works, for example, then at least we’ve narrowed down the problem a bit.

Cheers,

  • Ryan

Hi Ryan,

Tried a bunch of formats but gets the same error over and over again…
Got any suggestions on what to do?
Besides kicking Apples a**?

Hi Henrik,

Maybe it’s the input format. Have you tried any other formats other than PNG (jpeg, tga, etc)?

Also, you wouldn’t happen to have a copy of QT pro, would you? With QT pro, you can try creating a movie manually to see if you run into the same problem (Deadline just uses the QT SDK to create a movie). Note that you don’t need QT Pro to create movies with Deadline, this would just be a test to see if the problem is more of a general QT problem.

Cheers,

  • Ryan

Hi again Ryan,

It works with jpegs, so i just have to use something else than PNG even though i did fancy that format.
I have QT Pro on a MAc and it takes in png files without any problems…

It could be a Mac vs PC thing. I have QT Pro here for the PC, so if you wanted to bundle up a few PNG images and your QT settings xml file, I could test it here to confirm if it’s a general QT problem or not.

Cheers,
