Refraction ???

I wondered if it is possible in Krakatoa to make particles visible through a refractive surface. I don’t know how to explain this clearly, but for example in this image:

The refractive surface would be the ball, and the particles would be everything that’s behind it. What I want to do is make my geometry refractive so that the particles behind it distort and do other things like that.

I have searched in the documentation, also in the forums, but I didn’t find anything.
So, I would like to know, is it possible in Krakatoa? If yes, how can I do that?

This is currently not possible with particle rendering, but should be possible with the Krakatoa Atmospheric effect of Krakatoa MX 2 using Default Scanline, V-Ray, Brazil or finalRender (mental ray is not supported).

Thanks for the information! Unfortunately, I can render it only in particle mode. Seems like I will have to fake the refraction in the compositing… somehow…
