Rendering incorrect view, bug?

This is a strange one.

I’ve bumped into a render job that kept on rendering from an incorrect view! I only have one camera in the scene, the main one, of course, but it still rendered from one of the perspective ones! I further investigated what it could have been and I found out that I had, on my local machine, a specific view locked in the VFB, so no matter what viewport I work in, it always renders from the camera. The locked view was, of course, the camera. But as soon as I submitted the file to Deadline, it kept rendering from a wrong Perspective view.

Have you experienced this behavior?

I’m on Max 2010 x64, incl. all the render slaves. Latest Deadline. All windows, incl. Servers.

This FAQ item explains why this problem occurs:
software.primefocusworld.com/sof … t_viewport.

So in short, avoid using the Locked Viewport feature.

Thank you!

Yes, I’ve been avoiding it until now, when I simply “forgot” to uncheck the locked views as I was working on the scenes.

Thanks again, best…

you could write a quick max private sanity check to check for this padlock before submitting your max files and therefore safeguard you against submitting a wrongly set file?
