Is 3dsmax 9 installed on the machine you are trying to render on? If it isn’t, you have to install it first.
If it is installed, then you probably just need to configure the 3dsmax plugin to point to the correct location of the 3dsmax 9 executable (3dsmax.exe). This can be done from the Monitor while in super user mode by selecting Tools -> Configure Plugins, then select 3dsmax from the list on the left. Then just specify the correct path to 3dsmax 9’s executable as it exists on the machine you’re trying to render on.
Note that you can separate multiple paths with a semicolon, just in case you have 3dsmax 9 installed to different locations on different machines. Then Deadline will just use whichever path it finds first.

Unfortunately, the bug that is likely causing this error can’t be fixed with a simple path, so the only option is to wait until 4.0 is released. It will be released this month (hopefully next week), so you shouldn’t have to wait too long. We apologize for the inconvenience.
is it said that i can not rendering job using deadline 3.1?i see,when i pratice with deadline 3.0,there is a bug,you said that it can resolve in the 3.1,now the bug only resolve in the 4.0.i do not know why.but i want to rendering work to show my boss,i only choice wait 4.0?
