Is subject supported by Deadline?
Hi Ivan,
Deadline does not yet support Renderman for Maya. We are going to
contact Pixar to see if we can get a copy so that we can add support for
it in the future.

I am currently testing renderman for Maya and so far I am loving it.
The problem with renderman for maya is that it is only single thread.
I know that Deadline support multiple tasks per computer but I have not yet tested that since I prefer running jobs multithreaded.
My question is, is it possible to have a computer to render 2 different task (from 2 different jobs) each task using 1 cpu.
Will it require running 2 slaves? or 4 slave for 4 cpu computers?
Thanks
At the moment, the slaves can render two or more tasks at a time, but they must be from the same job. The slaves are multithreaded, so you still only need to run one slave per machine. The slaves render concurrent tasks in groups, meaning they won't look for new tasks until every task from their current group is complete. We hope to improve on this in the future.
This option is in the Job Properties. You can set the number of concurrent tasks for a job from 1 to 16, and you can limit the number of tasks to the number of CPUs the machine has. This means you can set the maximum number of concurrent tasks to 4 for example, but machines with 2 CPUs will still only render 2 at a time.
There is RMfM EVAL on www.pixar.com… Can you add support of one to Deadline?
Hi Ivan,
Thanks for the info! We will definitely add support to Deadline.
