Hey

Hello!
The statuses are hard-coded and adding your own isn’t possible. What are you looking to do? Maybe adding something in the Job’s ExtraInfo fields could handle it?
Hey
Was hoping to update the status with more information like
App Starutp
App Config
App Connect
etc etc etc. So its more precise information for user to know what’s going on.
Bummer, the extra_info is there, but so far out of user sight that unless I point their face towards it they will never know.
Is there a command that would allow me to re-order the columns for given task ?
If I can reorder it then I can make it work, else its just never gonna be seen by user.
There’s nothing specific for moving columns around but there are Monitor layouts you can apply based on a User’s group. So you could shuffle the columns around there an apply it to the users’ Monitors.
Where to set those are detailed here - Repository Configuration — Deadline 10.1.14.4 documentation
And details about customizing the Monitor are here - Monitor — Deadline 10.1.14.4 documentation
Can I preconfigure that in the plugin? I won’t have access to the client’s deadline platform. I want the layout of columns for my plugin task to be in correct order/label/placement.
Or can I preconfigure layout & save it to customs and then the deadline would pick up this layout for the job on 1st render or something?
Essentially, how can I do it without having access to the deadline?
Regards
Dariusz
Hello!
You can’t edit or distribute layouts without access to Deadline. I suppose you could outline how to move the columns around and include a how-to for whoever is installing the plugin, but otherwise you’re out of luck.
Hey
Yeah I’m 99% sure they will ignore it if its manual job.
Is there a way to save layout and then place somewhere in deadline repository to auto read if job of given plugin is being rendered?
Hello!
Nope, you can’t apply layouts based on a currently rendering job. That would be very open to conflict.
You’re going to have to hope they follow instructions
Oh dear !
Well… then +1 to someday being able to specify each field manually… so I can make them more helpful :- )
