Slave not releasing after task finished

The slaves are not releasing the task after it is completed. I did see a previous post on this subject, but I would like to bring it up again. It is a constant problem at my studio. So, I’m wondering if this is a bug or just the setting are not set up correctly.

Check your user notification settings. We had problems when they were set to "email" and there was no mail server installed on the machines. The machines would sit and endlessly try to send an email instead of failing and continuing on with the next task. We set ours to "None" and have had no problems since.

Super user mode - Tools - Manage users - pick a user - change PreferredNotificationMethod to "None"

Hey guys,



The problem is that Deadline tries to send an email even if the SMTP

server setting in the Repository Options is empty. In the future,

Deadline will no longer try send email notifications when the SMTP

server setting is empty.
