Slave picking up old job

Hello Ryan,

My Deadline 3 SP1 is picking up old job like described in :
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1717&p=7380&hilit=Documents+and+settings#p7380

but the solution found there doesn’t work for me and actually I’ve found that the problem was that the submitted scenes are being copied to the folder “C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Frantic Films\Deadline\slave\jobsData” and the render user I’m using doesn’t have write and change access to this folder and changing that folder’s permissions does the trick.

So is there any way to change the default folder for copying the scenes (or some other solution) for me not to have to change permission rights of this folder on every machine in my network?

another thing is that I’ve noticed two “deadline.ini” files, one in the user’s folder “C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Frantic Films\Deadline” and another one the All Users’ folder “C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Frantic Films\Deadline” why is there two? and if I have to change the repository in the user folder’s one is the repository configured per user?

Thanks

Ah, ok - so it’s not actually picking up an old job (in the Deadline sense of the word), it’s just using an old scene file. The next release of Deadline will be storing these files in the current user’s application data folder (ie: C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Frantic Films\Deadline), so that should resolve this problem going forward. Unfortunately, the only workaround at the moment would be to change permissions of the current folder.

The deadline.ini file in the All Users folder is the default that is created when you install the Deadline client. When a new user boots up Deadline for the first time, this default file is copied to the current user’s folder, and that’s the file that is used from then on. The reason for this is so that different users can have different deadline.ini files. The deadline.ini file in the All Users folder isn’t used by the Deadline applications, it’s just there to provide a default when a new user starts up Deadline for the first time.

Cheers,

Thx for the reply, i’ll be changing the permissions for now, and thanks for clarifying the 2 “deadline.ini” thing, I’ll be making a script to change default deadline user on login so having this information did clarify the procedure for me…

thx
