Slave scheduling for office hours with limited cores

Sorry again for flooding the boards with questions, I’m just trying to get things done as quickly as possible on this job I’m on.

I’m looking to use the scheduling feature to allow artist workstations to allocate 2/8 cores to background render during office hours. Is this possible?

Scheduling can be done via Power Management:

If you’re on OSX (which I think you are based on your other posts), then you can’t control the affinity of the Deadline Slave. The OSX operating system simply doesn’t support the notion of processor affinity.

But can I assign 2 cores throughout working hours and then 8 cores in the evening?

No, that’s what I was referring to when I was talking about affinity. :slight_smile:
