I’ve switched to using the database option for gathering statistics, but I find that there aren’t any slave stats.
When I go to view them, it shows all my slave names, but gives me ‘n/a’ for all the data.
The ‘completed jobs’ and ‘repository’ stats are working great, just the slave stats don’t register. I’ve tested the database connection through the ‘repository options’ on the monitor, but don’t know how to check the connection from a slave (which don’t have monitor available because using -nogui) - maybe it’s a permission problem connecting to the db?
Thanks for reporting this. I can reproduce this here, and it definitely looks like a bug.
The issue is that development has basically wrapped up on the version 5 cycle. We have completely revamped the stats gathering in the current Deadline 6 beta so that stats are already stored in the database that Deadline uses. We have removed the built-in postgres database support for stats, and have instead added additional API functions so that event scripts in Deadline can collect stats and write them to the database of your choosing.
So here’s the question:
Are you able to live with this bug until you are able to upgrade to Deadline 6?
If not, is going back to the old stats system in Deadline 5 an option?
Finally, if (1) and (2) aren’t viable, would you consider upgrading to the current Deadline 6 beta? It’s already being used in a few production environments.
