Trying to run vray.exe + arguments but can’t get it to work properly
This is what i have at the moment:
SlaveUtils.SendRemoteCommand(machineName, "Execute ““C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2016/vray/bin/vray.exe -server -portNumber=20207"””)

What errors are you getting? I would suggest single quotes for strings (it’s more “pythonic”) and to escape the quotes.
Try this:
SlaveUtils.SendRemoteCommand(machineName, 'Execute \"C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2016/vray/bin/vray.exe\" -server -portNumber=20207')
That said, wouldn’t you want to submit a V-Ray DR job? That’ll let you monitor how long it’s been running, who submitted it, have Deadline restart V-Ray, etc etc. It’s what it’s there for.
Thanks for this. I didn’t know much about the DBR setup through deadline. I have set this up now and seems to be working fine. Although DBR doesnt seem to support the overscan override in vray. renders black or mismatched buckets.
That’s Interesting. If you only use the submitter from the Monitor to start V-Ray but set up the render settings as you did before does it make any difference? I can’t imagine what we would be doing to V-Ray to disable that sort of feature. As far as I know, we’re just starting the Spawner, and in the case of Swarm adding some tags to the nodes.
