Slow loader performance?

I have a PRT loader set to load one frame only. If I tumble around the viewport, I can get around 10Hz update. But if I hit play on the timeline, I only get around .3Hz. Since it’s only loading one frame, shouldn’t it just keep the point data in cache? I don’t have any clipping objects or other animation on the PRT Loader.

It should have, if it were smart enough. ;o)

Looks like it is not. Will log it as a defect.

It would have to make sure there are no modifiers, culling objects, animated materials etc. that would require a reevaluation. Might be trickier than it sounds…

Logged as defect 4423.

Let’s see what the developers think.
