is it a display issue?
funny enough - we had a max client this week with a similar problem. Turned out that 3dsMAX has a 2.2 display gamma in it’s framebuffer, and renders have no gamma applied.
when he rendered locally and on the farm the results were the same outside of max - or if you disabled the gamma display adjustment.
deadline isn’t handling rendering any differently than the application does - however that doesnt mean that this sort of thing can’t happen. i recall a local instance of an environment map being different than a hosted instance of the same-named map - that caused all sorts of odd behaviour when rendering…
Yeah i think this was a similar thing - i had it set to .png with “apply gamma correction” for preview purposes when i tested Deadline for the first time - also now that i look at the two pictures i uploaded i can’t see any difference at the crappy screen i’m behind now… Whoops
believe me, it’s not the first time i’ve seen something like that. i’ve had clients scream at me because their mac qt didnt look the same as the image we showed them!!
btw, image reminds me of the fear agent. cool stuff.
