Is there anyway deadline could help with stereoscopic workflows? Could this be like a variation on tile renders in SMTD? I want like two jobs submitted with the correct cameras and filenames changed.
Thanks,
Ben.

Submitting two jobs with just different cameras and image paths could be done using the Batch render dialog and the Batch tab of SMTD, or we could look at adding our own.
I think it would be much more interesting if it was ONE job with a list of cameras to render and image file names to save for each camera.
This way, the scene and textures would be loaded once and rendered twice on the same machine, reducing some of the network traffic.
I wanted to avoid using the batch feature. I like the idea of a single job that renders a list of outputs. Although that might clash with our rpmanager workflows. That might be nice for tiles. But then multiple machines couldn’t work on a frame.
So I we have to hack it before the feature is added, how would you hack it?

Well, we already submit stereo jobs for a big show we are just finishing and we simply wrote a dedicated tool that uses the SMTD functions but not the SMTD interface. It simply sets up the camera and output as well as any scene changes needed (since our textures are a bit different for left and right eye), performs the submission of the LE job, then sets up and submits the RE job.
