We’re hoping to get beta 6 out on Thursday.
Attached is an updated deadlineslave.exe file, which should be all you need to use the fix. Just unzip it to a slave’s deadline 6 bin folder (you’ll need to stop the slave if it’s currently running). Then launch the slave again. Definitely test this on one machine before copying it to the rest.

Is this the same problem as the start/stop updates not occuring.
We haven’t looked into the “start/stop update” problem yet. However, we don’t know what the full impact of this -nogui threading issue was (which was the cause for the slave to hang on its task). There is the possibility that fixing this threading issue could fix other current issues, but we won’t know until we test. If you get the chance to test it though, let us know if the “start/stop update” problem persists.
The new renderslave patch works on 4 out of 10 computers. The others it just crashes. Any thoughts?
Not sure really. We’re still on track to get beta 6 out tomorrow, so honestly it’s probably just best to reinstall the new version when it’s available.
