TIF Tile Assembly Transparency Issue

We have an issue which seems to have sneaked into Deadline 5.1

When we render a TIF file as tiles the alpha channel is put into the transparency layer instead of the alpha channel. So when you open the file in photoshop you get a layer which is RGBA with no seperate alpha channel. What we used to get (and what we expect to) is an image with Red, Green, Blue and Alpha Channels, just like you do when you save a TIF file directly from 3dsmax.

It’s causing issues in our retouching pipeline as it’s not easy to get rid of the transparency in photoshop and leaves a dodgey edge.

Also this issues then only effects files loaded into Photoshop CS5 upwards. CS4 still loads them ‘correctly’.

Forget the edge issues that’s a standard premultiplication issue with TIFs.
