Two machines, which is best to install the Repository ?

Hi, Sorry for my newbie question. :unamused: I have a new HP workstation arriving today and want to chain it to my exsiting machine to create a simple two machine render farm for Maya and After effects.
I just wanted to know which machine would you recommend installing the repository on the older machine or the newer one ?

I will be now doing most of my work on the newer one so perhaps best on the older one, or will it be faster on the newer faster machine ?

Also I already have the repository version 5.0.0.44528 on my older machine from when i tested it a while back, is it best to just uninstall it then install latest versions of everything ?

Since you’ll be primarily working on the new machine, it’s probably best to install the repository on the old one. Since you only have 2 machines connecting to the repo, you probably won’t see any performance differences between the two machines.

Also, since you only have two machines, it might just be easier to uninstall/reinstall everything. :slight_smile:
