I’m wondering if there has been any look into working with VRay in Softimage? It has a seperate path to render to in the VRay settings… rather than Softimage’s usual way… So I guess thats why it’s not saving the render - it seems to have no problem chugging through the frames otherwise!
As far as I know, this should just work. Is the path that you’re setting in the vray settings a network location that is accessible by all slaves?
Also, are you able to post a log from the job? That might help explain what’s going on. You can find the logs by right-clicking on the job in the Monitor and select Job Reports -> View Log Reports.

Hmm well, the paths should be good. I was only testing it locally on one machine anyway.
I did a test whereby the XSI output was a different file name to VRay’s output path.
And it DID save the Vray renders, so no problem this time… To note though, if I right-click on a frame and ‘export output’ it does look for the XSI path, not the vray path…
Anyway this is a little confusing and I’ve also heard Chaosgroup are looking to use the standard XSI output anyway in the future…So as long as it does render for now, the problem with the output paths would be a problem in the future…

Hopefully they decide to use the standard XSI output path in the future, since Deadline relies on that for a few things.
