Hello Mario,
I don’t think there is, as it would require the submitter to check the output location before submitting. I assume that a sanity check is possible, but I will need to have one of our scripting folks look this over and see what is possible. Can you advise what applications you use with Deadline? Thanks.
Tks.
We use Softimage, Maya, Cinema 4D, Nuke and after effects.
We are evaluating Deadline but used Royal Render before.
I like the idea, but the effort might be a bit much (it’s not asked for very often).
Just for good measure though, does Royal Render support warning about overwriting output?
We have something like that in our customized Softimage submitter.
if not os.listdir(newRpth): #Test if render directory contains files
Application.SetValue("Passes.RenderOptions.OutputDir", newRpth, "")
else:#if render directory contains files ask if user wants to continue.
prewarningMessages = prewarningMessages + "Save path contains files and\\or folder. Do you want to continue?\n"
Yes it does.
Any news on this. Thats one if the important features that will make us rethink changing to Deadline from Royal Render. Is that a feature that can be implemented?
Hello,
Edwin it out of the country this week, but I will talk to the devs tomorrow and get their thoughts on this.
Great tks!
I’ll bring it up in our meeting today, but I don’t think it’s likely (we never seem to be at a loss for things to work on). I might be able to put some extra weight behind it if we discuss the possible purchase opportunity. Can you e-mail me direct? My e-mail address is edwin@thinkboxsoftware.com.
