weird error rendering with vray

I am having a problem with vray 1.5 rc3 and deadline.  The job will render locally on the affected slave if I open max manually and render a frame.  But when we submit it through deadline it throws the error "failed to render the frame".  We submitted it in scanline mode and it worked fine, so I'm guessing it's something to do with the vray/deadline communication.

I've attached a log file, and I can arrange to send you the max file if you need it.  We have been having strange problems with vray for a while now.

Yeah, there really isn’t anything in the log that explains the problem.

If you could send us a max scene so we could reproduce the problem here,

that would be great!
