Weird MAX2014 Rendering Issue

D6/MAX2014/Win7

When I render a MAX2014 scene via D6… a Win7 slave (that I also use to view the Deadline Monitor) always displays a weird Maxscript window during the rendering.

Another Win7 slave does not display this window during rendering. All other XPx64 slaves do not display this window. Only this one Win7 system.

Any idea how to get rid of this thing?

Thanks!

Problem resolved.

It seems that for some unknown reason, that particular slave had some weird temp MCR file saved down in MAX>usermacros> and whenever MAX is started it attempts to run that MCR which throws the error. I simply found the file and deleted it and now that slave renders without showing that window.

Thanks!

This is related to the relatively recent (around Max 2012 I think) introduction of multi-threaded MacroScript evaluation in Max. Sometime macroscripts evaluated from other folders that have to create copies in the #usermacros folder fail to correctly save the file. I have seen this a few times on my machine, but usually the next start up would solve it.

Glad you figured it out. Not Deadline related, but confusing indeed.

Thanks for the ideas Bobo! Yes, very confusing but sorted now.

Thanks again.
