After Effects not Erroring on missing frames

Hi,

Deadline Version 8.0.9.1, After Effects 2015.3

Just another little After Effects snag to add to your list I’m afraid. I’ve just had a job complete even though it should have errored. I’ve included the details below:

It looks like it’s thrown up a warning and than graciously finished, it was set to render locally so it should also have failed when there wasn’t a file to copy as well I’m assuming?

These are the After Effects job settings:

Thanks

Nick

“Fail on Warning Messages” was set to “False” so, to not fail on that warning message was indeed, correct given the settings of this particular job.

With regard failing on the “Moving output files and folders from…”, the command being used was set to be ‘forgiving’ and not fail out if the files were missing. I have now changed this to fail out. I’ll add that change to a number of other AE based tweaks to hopefully be committed to a future SP release of 8.0.

Thanks!

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the response, chalk this off to a bit of a weirdness in After Effects then, I don’t think it actually created the movie even though it only threw up a warning.

Nick
