Working in relative Paths with 3dsmax & DL6.2

Is it possible to, and if yes how to…, working with max and relative path (even the render output in relative path), if the project folder (3ds max one) is store on the network drive ?
I try to make it work but I failed no matter what options I try…
Basicly I want to make it work relative to the 3ds max project folder (like backburner, or 3ds max localy).

Hello,

I talked with one of our 3ds max pros and he said if a 3dsMax project directory is stored on a network path, then it is absolute. We are unable to support relative paths as we need it to be rooted.

ok, so it’s not posible, we need to work in absolute…thanks for answer…

Is it still not possible to use relative paths and Project folders in 3ds max together with Deadline?

Johan

I never try again to work in relative paths, and Project folders with 3dsMAX
Instead, I work in absolute, and I simply relink path for asset/bitmaps etc if my folder had change path (could be automate via MXS)…
Then it work, and it’s fast enought using MXS, so I never take a look again to relative path method, I do not change path of project every 2 weeks…
