I know H16 was just released but I’m curious to know when there may be a patch rolling out to specifically support it?

Support for Houdini 16 is already in the latest release of Deadline 8, which is 8.0.16. If you don’t have a license or download links for that, feel free to email sales@thinkboxsoftware.com to get that sorted out.
