[NUKE]<output> has no valid channels - nothing to write.

Hi Guys,

I’m getting a error I haven’t had before with a writenode Gizmo I have made.

file_v001.mov: has no valid channels - nothing to write.

It also happens when writing EXR’s or other files.
I have tried it in a clean script and made sure the channels are fine.

When leaving the groupnode as groupnode (instead of saving as gizmo) it works fine…

My gizo:
Groupnode

  • Input
  • Writenode called “autoWrite”
  • Output

Some knobs from the writenode are exposed on the groupnode.

Any ideas?

Hi ,

Can you run this comp from nuke command line with the verbosity set to 2:
/path/to/nukeexecutable -V 3 -x /path/to/file.nk

paste the results.

That way we can see where its getting tripped up.
I half suspect that it cant find the nested read node in the gizmo…

Cheers
Kym

I’m watching over here too. Thanks for the first response here Kym! Doing our job for us again, you may need an honourary Thinbox support title.
