Hello, I ran into a situation today where I had been using the Vray VFB with region render to check some channel data. Before submitting I unchecked use Vray VFB, but left the region control enabled. This produces black frames. I encourage you to take out the output_on check inside the vrayVFBGetRegionEnabled() check.

PS: This does not occur during local rendering, and I’m not sure if its the same for backburner. Otherwise I’d submit it to Chaos Group.

I tried to reproduce this here, and could not - when I disabled the VFB with the Region still active, and submitted the job, it rendered correctly.
I was running Max 2017, VRay 3.60.01.

In other semi-related news, I just added an almost identical SMTD sanity check for Corona’s “region” button in its own “VFB”. In the case of Corona, we don’t need to check if the VFB is enabled or not, as users may well be saving out via both of them. I also tried to reproduce this issue with V-Ray and it renders fine for me as well. As Bobo said, +what exact version of Deadline are you using?
