Hello,
I’m having some trouble figuring out how to set defaults for pool, limits, etc on the Deadline ROP. I was previously able to use the CustomSanityChecks.py for the RenderMenu submission, but I can’t figure out how to push values to the actual ROP submission.
Any help would be great appreciated.

Hey Jake,
You can actually set defaults for any node in Houdini (not just Deadline) without needing to script at all! Here’s how to do it:
- Have Houdini open with a Deadline ROP node created
- Set all the values you want as default (pools, groups, and limits are in the ‘Job Options’ tab of the Deadline ROP node)
- Click the gear beside the Deadline ROP Name and select:
[list]
[*] ‘Save Preset…’ if you want the choice between different default values - ‘Save as Permanent Defaults’ if you want every created Deadline ROP node to have these defaults
[/*:m][/list:u]
