3dsmax8 Render Failure with Vray

Current Config:

3dsmax 8 with SP3

Vray Renderer 1.5RC3

3GB Ram

Windows XP Pro 32-bit

Deadline 2.6

Been getting these “RenderPluginException” with the following error of “Trapped SEH Exception in CurRendererRenderFrame”. We render locally on five seperate boxes without using deadline and all 5 scenes render fine with no error. Here’s a copy of the log:

Any help/suggestions would help greatly. It’s possible that it is a combination of Deadline and Vray, since we can render locally with no errors.

Lap Luu

Hi Lap,

The error “Trapped SEH Exception in CurRendererRenderFrame(): Access

Violation” is often related to memory issues. Simply put, memory is

being accessed that shouldn’t be. If the scene you’re rendering is very

complex, or is using very high resolution maps, try scaling some things

back to see if that resolves the issue.

Another thing you could try is using the 3dsmaxCmd plugin, which uses

the 3dsmax command line tool for rendering instead of hooking into the

Max API. Check out this link for more details on this plugin:

Cheers,

This link from Vray’s Troubleshooting Guide provides some more details

on the problem:
