When can we expect a Linux version of Deadline and will it work in a mixed environment (i.e. WinXP & Fedora)? Also, does Deadline support rendering with YafRay or any command-line based renderer?

Looking forward to a Linux release so I can test my farm with Deadline and purchase some lic.

We hope to have job submission and rendering for linux by this summer, and yes, we do intend for it to work in a mixed environment.

Deadline doesn't support YafRay yet, but because it's a command line renderer, adding support for it will be easy. There is a Windows version of it, so we would start there.

In fact, adding any command line based renderer should be easy, so please send us a list of other renders you feel that Deadline should support.
