Rendered images target folder problem inXSI 6.02

Hi,

I have a question about configure deadline plugin within xsi. first of all I setup my scene options. This is in my scene output window: “[Project Path]/Render_Pictures” and the pass framebuffers/main output window “Object[Pass][Pass]” When I hit Submit to Deadline a window appear where I can setup everything. I just setup group size and pick passes to render.

1: When I render on my desktop pc Xsi will put rendered images to Render Pictures/Objects/ Rendered Pass name

2: When I render on renderfarm the rendered images appear in Render Pictures/Objects/Rendered Pass name/Objects/Rendered Pass Name

Did I something wrong?

Hi Csaba,

I’ve been able to reproduce the problem. When the job is submitted,

Deadline grabs the output path for the pass so that it can be passed to

the command line renderer. This is done so that the output path can be

overridden by the user after the job has been submitted. So Deadline is

passing this patch to the command line:

[Render Pictures]/Objects/[Pass]

But because the pass is configured to render to “Object/[Pass]/[Pass]”

in the scene, it actually appends this to the patch above, which gives

us this:

[Render Pictures]/Objects/[Pass]/Object/[Pass]/[Pass]

I think the solution is to just use the scene output setting “[Project

Path]/Render_Pictures”, instead of grabbing the full path from the pass.

I’ve logged this as a bug, and we’ll try to get it into the plugin patch

we’ll be releasing this week.

Thanks for pointing this out!

Cheers,

Hmm, after taking a look, this might take a little more work. We use the

pass path name for a lot of things in the submission script, so this fix

will probably have to wait until the Deadline 3.0 release. As a

workaround, you can specify the absolute output path for the pass, which

will override the scene output path.

Sorry for the inconvenience,

I see. I will test those “bugs” soon as possible, and post it to you if I found it unsolvable.

Best regards,

Csaba

Hi Ryan,

Thank you! We have more (few) problems with Xsi and deadline. But I am not sure what’s wrong yet. I mean is it a bug or we did something wrong. If I can’t found a cure for this I will post it for you.

Thank you again!

Csaba
