Maya mental ray out of memory errors

Hello, I have been getting a ton of mental ray errors lately on the jobs our clients have been working on. I was wondering if there were any settings I could pass along or change myself that would make things go easier.

this is not a deadline problem…it is your scene too heavy!

usually this happen if u wanna render occlusion and u have a lot of geometry.

i usually activate the tile rendering

do some tests.
