Hi David,
This “211 error code” has been popping up a lot lately. At the bottom of
the slave log, Maya is printing out these error messages:
0: STDOUT: Error: File not found.:
//Mirus/3d/Community_Files/Western_National/CA/the_orsini/scenes/plan_L.mb
…
0: STDOUT: Error: Cannot load scene
“//Mirus/3d/Community_Files/Western_National/CA/the_orsini/scenes/plan_L.mb”.
Please check the scene name.
…
So for some reason Maya can’t find/open up the scene file. This seems to
be a Maya problem, and Deadline is just the messenger in this case. I’ve
read that in the past this error could be related to the path to the
Maya scene itself (ie: spaces or underscores, or incorrect
forward/backward slashes), however I tested Maya 2008 with a UNC path
almost identical to yours here (using underscores and ‘/’ slashes), and
it rendered fine.
So the only other possibility I can think of is that there may be a
network issue. A couple questions:
- Can you confirm that the slaves have the necessary permissions to
access the file
“//Mirus/3d/Community_Files/Western_National/CA/the_orsini/scenes/plan_L.mb”?
The easiest way to do this would be to open Maya on one of your slave
machines and try to load the scene.
- Is the server that “//Mirus/3d/…” is on running a server operating
system, or is it a normal XP/2000 machine? Non-server OS’s have a remote
connection limitation of 10, so if you have more machines accessing it
than allowed, machines could lose their connections.
- Have you tried submitting the scene with the “Submit Maya Scene File”
checked? This copies the scene file locally to the slave machine before
the render begins, so that Maya doesn’t have to load the scene over the
network.
Cheers,
- Ryan
