Hi…Im trying to manually submit a XSI render but keep comming up with this message…what does it mean??



Im able to submit jobs directly from XSI without comming across this error but it takes too long to submit and sometimes even crashes XSI.



Any suggestions??

Hi Riyaz,



When submitting to XSI, you need to submit 3 files:

i) The Submission Info File (job scheduling information, such as pool, plugin, frames, etc).

ii) The Plugin Info File (includes stuff like the Pass to render).

iii) The XSI scene file.



So in that second file, you need to specify the pass you wish to render. Take a look at the XSI submission script file at //your/repository/submission/XSI to see how it’s done.



By the way, which version of Deadline are you running? I believe we addressed the issue of the XSI submission script causing XSI to hang in 2.0 (it had to do with infinite looping while waiting for a Deadline command to return).
