3dsmax and wrong gamma

Hi,
Lately we’re experiencing gamma errors on the images when rendering through deadline. File rendered locally or through backburner are fine, but when run through deadline (on the same machines) - it renders too dark (preview and output, or only output) are with the wrong gamma. System is set to adopt file’s gamma & lut settings - yet output is wrong. It happens with scenes with mental and vray - 2011,2102 and 2013 max versions - it’s clearly deadline caused. And it’s also scene dependent - some of them are with wrong gamma - and some are not - a random pattern. Am I missing something, some setup tick ?

When you’re rendering with Deadline, do you have the “Local Rendering” option enabled? It’s under the User Options tab if you’re submitting from within 3dsmax, or under the Advanced tab if you’re submitting from the Monitor. Someone else had reported an issue where Local Rendering wasn’t maintaining some output format settings, and I wonder if your problem is related.

Cheers,

Yes, we do have local rendering enbled - as it seems safer that way - I’ll make some test with troublesome scenes and post here the results.
UPDATE :
After first test - it looks as disabling local rendering helped (the rendering preview was too dark, but output file was saved with correct brightness).
I’ll do some more testing with other version of max/different renderers.
