3dsmax.py hanging on startup?

Some slaves seem to hang trying to load the 3dsmax.py plugin:

Been like that for 13 minutes now, no apparent activity. Attaching a process monitor shows that deadlineslave does some registry & license checks regularly, so it still seems ‘alive’

i have a test job thats hanging like this right now, i can leave it as it is if you guys want me to try something.

While this is happening, the UI of the slave app seems to be frozen (its all white). (we are on the release version)

What’s the slave memory usage look like? We’ve had a report that while rendering a max job, the slave is using up lots of memory and is also white (unresponsive). I wonder if this is related or not…

Nothing special (its still hanging since i reported this), the slave is using 454 megs, but also using 1 core 100%

Total ram usage on the machine is around 1.2gigs, with 31g available

Weird. Does this reliably happen with this test job? I wonder if we should test your job here to see if we can reproduce.

No it only happened on 1 task (out of ~10). Its still hanging btw

If you guys want to take a look remotely, its available. Not sure if you can do anything though, but maybe attach a debugger?
