4.1SP1 - Pulse prevents Slave from loading

I’m seeing odd behaviour here. The repository is set up on a Mac Mini running OS X 10.6.4 and with Mono 2.6.7 installed. It also runs as a node (using the -nogui option). What has been causing some confusion here is that, if I run Pulse (in nogui mode - haven’t tested the GUI mode yet), I cannot get the slave to load.

If I start the slave first, Pulse fires up without issue.

I see no error message - neither in the console nor the terminal - it simply prints a warning about ipv6 (which is reported by all DL apps on all of the Macs, even if Slave then goes on to work perfectly happily) and then exits.

I’m rather puzzled by this one and wondered if it was a known issue.

We haven’t heard of this issue before. Definitely check if running Pulse in GUI mode makes a difference, and let us know. Also, enable verbose logging for both Slave and Pulse in the Repository Options (under the Logging section), and then restart both apps so that they recognize the change immediately. Then start up Pulse first and then Slave so that the slave gets “stuck”. Then grab the most recent Pulse and Slave logs from their respective machines and send them to us. You can find the log folder from the Help menu in each Deadline application.

Thanks,
