Adding software versions in Configure plugins

We’re currently using Nuke 8v6 but Deadline doesn’t have a plugin path for anything about 8v4. Where would I look to add more version spots? I’m assuming there’s a python script I can hack to add more spots for executables.

Hello James,

Nuke 8.0v4 and 8.0v6 would both go in the same box, as they are both 8.0 versions of Nuke. It’s like Deadline 6.2.0.32 and 6.2.1.30, they are both 6.2, just lesser releases of them.

Hmmm, so all of the other boxes are irrelevant?

Nope!

You have 7 boxes for 7 very different versions of Nuke.

Having a box for Nuke 8.0.0, 8.0.1, 8.0.3 for example would not be necessary.

Your original wording is a little confusing.
If you have Nuke 8.6 that is VERY different from 8.0v6 (which essentially is 8.0.6)

Look carefully at the data in your forms.
Nuke 8.6 contains a path to Nuke 8.0v6(8.0.6).
Nuke 8.5 however has a path to Nuke 8.5v1(8.5.1).

If you correct the path, you should be good to go!

I guess I was confused by Deadline’s usage of the version format. I figured out that I have to put in my own paths rather than rely on the default ones.

Yes, those extra boxes were in there from a point when Nuke had many releases, and we were trying to sort of future proof, and it’s a habit we haven’t broken. As far as I know, Nuke had no 8.1 or beyond, only many versions of 8.0, and now we are on to 9.0.

I did find the param file that allows me to edit that part. I’ve gotten it sorted out now. Thanks guys!
