Adobe Media Encoder 2023 submission script issue

So I am setting up a small farm for my work place, and experimenting with submitting AME job via Monitor’s Submission script.

I understand that the script will initiate the call to ame_webservice_console.exe. I have added the executable link under Configure Plugins.

When submitting the job and run, it seems only straight transcoding like (.mov to .mp4, or H.264 to HEVC) works. However, submitting the job, in which AME has to load After Effect files (.aep), results in Medi Encoder opens and then closes immediately, and the log just confirms that, no error on why it just closes AME without rendering:

So what is the problem? Ideally, I want to monitor all of AME’s job via Deadline. And it is frustrating that Adobe doesn’t want to support the web service, while I can’t find much information on how to deal with this. Any idea?

Thank you

Hey @harry1511,

Were you ever able to figure this out? We’re experiencing a similar issue with AME2023, we have not used AME in the past, but configured it in the same way you did. When I check the AME logs on the worker I see this line: Ticks = 15735 <9028> <dvamarshal> <0> SendError: Failed to add batch group. Do you see the same error in your AME logs?

Best,
-Alex

Hi @chitty
I do see the same error line under AME log. And unfortunately, I haven’t been able to figure this out. We mostly deal with actual video files like .mp4, .mov, and only occasionally image sequence, so I was in hope of utilizing Deadline to monitor this kind of job, but AME proves to be hard to work with.
