AE Deadline 7 - Stub received bad data

Hey there,

Just upgraded from Deadline 6 to 7 and submitted a job from After Effects CC 2014 (Update: Most anything we submit fails in the same way). The job fails right away with the following error:

Error starting “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC 2014\Support Files\aerender.exe” for user “mtrender” in “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC 2014\Support Files” : The stub received bad data.

The render string works if I render locally via command line and the only thing that’s changed on the machines is the Deadline client. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Hello Vaughn,

I wanted to check and see if you are using the ‘run as user’ feature of Deadline? If so, can you verify if turning it off helps? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I actually just uninstalled the repo and database and started again from scratch. Things seem to be working alright right now. I will try turning that on to see if that was, in fact, the problem.
